After spending a considerable amount of time constructing our first mini-billboard, it was installed on a private property in Hamilton. Six days later, on Saturday, 9-26-09, the sign was gone.

The Township police were called and a report was filed. Later, we contacted Hamilton Public works to determine if they picked up any signs that may have caused some kind of safety concern. They confirmed that they did not pick up any of our signs. Hamilton zoning also indicated that they were unaware of any possible problem that may have prompted removal of the sign. Finally, we closely examined the related ordinance on signs and everything seemed to comply.

Conclusion: The sign was stolen.

Hamilton police and the township personnel were very kind, eager to address all questions about the matter, and willing to help provide suggestions to find the sign. Thank you, Hamilton Township.

On Tuesday, 9-29-09, the sign was returned and was found leaning against a tree on the property. It was slightly damaged but repairable. The picture in this article is the sign as found.

We will pursue this matter as much as possible to determine the nature of the theft. In addition, we are developing a method of surveillance for all campaign related activities that will, hopefully, allow us to track future assault against this type of Citizen campaign. The Modern Whig Movement is national and is here to stay, regardless of my involvement.

Most people do not realize that third party campaign challenges are 100% volunteer efforts and are completely funded by small citizen donations. Interference with Citizen oriented campaigns should not be taken lightly. Without them, we would lose the ability to challenge a runaway government. .

For years the citizens of New Jersey have gone along with the status quo in terms of legislative and judicial dictums. This blind devotion has led to our current fiscal mess.

For years New Jersey has had the dubious reputation of being one of the most business unfriendly places to do business.

The lack of understanding of our elected officials and their appointees regarding economic and financial matters has led us to our dire position.

New Jersey’s State Constitution calls for the New Jersey Legislature and the Governor to produce a “balanced budget”. Simply put, a budget where the expenses do not exceed the revenues. And for most of the last two decades they have largely ignored this constitutional edict, which is why we are now over $30 billion dollars in debt. They borrow money so they can spend dollars that they do not possess (a variation of the “Ponzi Scheme”), and force the people of this state into financial quicksand.

It is high time for the people of New Jersey to say enough and elect candidates who have read the State Constitution and have the fiscal courage to do what is legal, right and correct.

Until the people of New Jersey stand firm and tell these politicians that they have had enough and vote them out of office, this mismanagement of our state will continue.

It is time for another revolution, and the voters in New Jersey’s ? District can do their part by electing someone who believes in freedom and liberty, and that person is Gene Baldassari.

David Corsi

Dave Corsi has testified at State and Federal legislative hearings on various property issues. He is also a past candidate for Congress.

Eliminate the Income Tax with Fair Tax (HR 25)

Backed by several years of Citizen and Congressional support

The income tax is the most abusive method of confiscating money ever invented by politicans. It is not necessary. It is wasteful. It is cruel. And no one has come up with a good reason why it should continue.

The Fair Tax Bill (HR 25/SR 25) would eliminate the income tax, lead to the repeal of the 16th Amendment, and eventaully pressure legislators to drastically reduce taxes.

I was the past director of Fair Tax NJ for the Fourth Congresional District. I support the elimination of the income tax Federally and in New Jersey. We need every possible method to enhance the productivity of private business and this would be a major boon to our economy. We will never create real jobs until we get rid of this noose around the neck of our flag.

Here is a summary of the benefits of Fair Tax and the problems that it would eliminate after it becomes law.

- Co-sponsored by 55 D.C. legislators

- Based on millions of dollars of privately funded studies

- Biggest transfer of power to the people in history

- Collects taxes from illegal aliens

- Collects taxes from the underground economy

- Eliminates tax breaks for special interests

- Pressures Washington to eliminate the 16th Amendment

- Initiates an economic boom as embedded taxes are eliminated

- Sparks a voter revolt for spending sanity in Government

Examples of the pain and suffering that we can eliminate:

- $300 Billion dollars in needless paperwork

- Automatic assumption of guilt

- Lack of privacy

- Weakened private ownership

- Government “central planning”

- Easy to cheat by hiring tax professionals

- Unfair and cruel

- Destroys jobs

There is Hope for New Jersey and America

With the highest property taxes in the nation, one of the highest per capita total tax burdens in the nation, an overpriced school system, an inability to balance government budgets, a massive loss of job opportunities, and a sliding loss of personal freedoms, this year’s legislative election will be extremely important to the future of NJ.

In many ways, it will be more important than the NJ Gubernatorial race because the most likely gubernatorial winners and their ties to the status quo will prevent them from salvaging New Jersey from an inevitable collapse. In another words, only a vocal and responsible legislature can reverse the awful trends that are killing New Jersey.

Like many fellow Citizens, I thought that the results of past legislative elections were so bad for NJ that we would automatically see viable challengers this year. As the NJ primary election began to unfold in late 2008, however, it began to appear like another “me too” event. It didn’t take long to realize that NJ was not going to have the type of legislative leadership that will be needed to reverse its slide to oblivion.

Although I was a volunteer in various elections since the 1960’s, I never had any intention or interest of being THE candidate. But when it became clear that voters would be denied the choices needed to effectively address the increasing problems that continue to destroy our standard of living and freedoms, I made a last minute decision to run for NJ Assembly.

When it comes to products or ideas, I can spend hours preaching selling points and bending the ears of anyone who will listen. But when I am the subject of the sale, I do not like to talk about my own merits. Consequently, I had never told anyone that I was the best in any endeavor. I did not even like to permit anyone to take my picture.

The Changes That I Had to Make

I can now proclaim, without a doubt, that I am the best candidate in the upcoming New Jersey 14th District election. No one else has the combination of life experience, leadership in citizen issues, willingness to expose the truth, investigative ability to get to the bottom of issues, and media communications understanding needed to get out the message. And, when it comes to properly representing the real needs of Citizens, there is no match in the other 14th District candidates.

And here is the greatest qualification of all. I will now allow my picture to be taken.

Every worker in the Modern Whig Party and every announced Modern Whig Candidate is a volunteer. None of us has time to throw away but we all love a Constitutional America. We are sacrificing our own time and money because of a strong belief that there is a dire need to establish a Party for the rest of us.

Whether you live in the 14th District or not, I encourage everyone to participate in this years historic Modern Whig election. A Modern Whig win in NJ-14 this year would reverberate throughout the nation as we prepare for next year’s Congressional elections.

Thank You,

Gene L. Baldassari

Candidate for NJ 14 Assembly

Modern Whig Party

Where is the Choice?

Political power parties work together and things get worse.

Political power parties work together to increase taxes.

When political power parties work together, they destroy quality job opportunities.

Political power parties work together to assure that Government spends more and more, even as Citizens are required to reduce their own personal budgets.

Political power parties work together and freedoms are destroyed.

Political power parties work together and private property rights are attacked.

Legislators are unresponsive to Citizens needs, regardless of political power party.

Americans continue to lose their great Country, regardless of political power party.

In short, voting is meaningless and Citizen lobbying is a waste of time.

How does it happen?

In most cases, it is impossible for a candidate to be nominated by a political power party unless he or she takes an unwritten pledge to support actions that almost guarantee a sinking ship.

Their left/right paradigm forces voters to accept two bad choices. Voting for the better of two devils always results in the wrong selection.

The Modern Whig Party offers a viable alternative to the current voter dilemma. This new movement will select only quality candidates to run under their banner. Modern Whig candidates understand their Constitutional requirement to act in the best interests of Citizens. As a result, Modern Whig candidates are the only real choices.

Even if there is no Modern Whig candidate in a District, voters will be able to participate and benefit, because good officials ultimately benefit everyone.

And, because of its non-partisan nature, the Modern Whig Party will also consider endorsing extraordinary candidates from “other” Parties, just as it has currently endorsed a Republican Congressional Candidate in New Mexico.

This site is designed to report news and information about the Modern Whig Party and its New Jersey Assembly candidate, Gene Baldassari. As you look through this site, you will experience a breath of fresh air. You’ll notice a Citizen feedback system that can be implemented at no extra cost to taxpayers, term limits to prevent political dynasties from emerging, non-partisan decisions to eliminate the bad effects of meaningless Power Party bickering, and a platform that is based on the needs of Citizens.

Navigate this web site, leave comments, sign up for the free email newsletter, volunteer, contact us through email, and call your friends to give them the good news about a fresh set of ideas that can give NJ and America the Government that was intended in the volatile days of the Declaration of Independence, The Revolutionary War, and the ratification of the Constitution.

If you live in New Jerseys 14th District, be sure to vote for Gene Baldassari.

If you do not live in NJ-14, be sure to assist the only Modern Whig Candidate in 2009, Gene L. Baldassari

I remember a thriving New Jersey as I grew up in the 1950’s and 1960’s in the Trenton area. There was an abundance of people working in factories, delivery trucks blocking the streets, and porches filled with people as they seemingly enjoyed life. At that time, I never heard anyone mention a major budget crisis in Trenton (budgets always result in fights but massive over-spending is a modern phenomena). When a person did not have a job, it was because he was lazy. In most cases, she did not have to work because he made enough money to allow her to stay home and take care of the homestead.

So, what changed?

The Clue to the Solution

In those days, New Jersey did not have a sales tax or state income tax. There were no revenues from a lottery or from Atlantic City. Even so, average Federal income taxes and Social Security taxes were lower. International currency was backed by gold, meaning that more of our money was backed by sweat and not just computer entries. The Federal Reserve Bank did not dilute the value of our wealth as much as it does today.

In those days, just a half a generation ago, smaller government left a higher percentage of total wealth in the hands of citizens. Workers used that extra wealth to produce useful products. New Jersey and America manufactured clothes, cars, and air conditioners. Imports were known as “Japanese Junk” and they consumed only a small percentage of our purchases.

We Lost our Way

What a contrast to the economy of 2009 where we manufacture paperwork, insurance policies, and bombs. Today, many of the productive jobs that we had in the past have been sent to other countries.

This loss of production is a security risk to America and a signal of a major decline in our living standards.

Today, 60% to 80% of our sweat energy is devoted to supporting a Government that does not understand the meaning of “produce”. American central planning does not have a clue on how to create lucrative private sector jobs. Anyone who has taken an elementary school course in arithmetic knows the solution. If you stop confiscating wealth from the people who need money to produce, you can lower taxes and increase productivity. The result will be a happier and richer land.

New Jersey and Federal elected officials need to practice fiscal responsibility, common sense, and rational thinking. In short, they have to stop stealing money from the public.

Contributing to the Solution

The Modern Whig Party was born out of the ideas of thousands of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who have put their lives on the line for America. These veterans are the leaders who will be needed to rebuild New Jersey and America. They will be the ones who will use the same type of guts, fiscal responsibility, common sense, and rational thinking that was used when the original Colonial settlers discovered how to convert Jamestown into an American miracle. This was the type of thinking that led to the greatest leap of living standards and technology ever known to man.

Your support of the Modern Whig Party in the 2009 NJ-14 Assembly election can help establish the Modern Whig Party and can be a major boost for next year’s Congressional elections.

I urge you to support the Modern Whig Party this year.

What are they Thinking?

It is not possible for any pubic official to automatically possess all of the knowledge, wisdom and thoughts of the Citizens who they are supposed to represent. Yet, New Jersey has been granted a group of all-knowing public officials who have stubbornly and arrogantly given us an adversarial system of “them “and “us”.

“Them” – Legislators who automatically know exactly what Citizens need.

“Us” – Citizens who must live under rules and laws that are dictated by the all-knowing.

For example, one of the failures of legislators is that they have allowed certain controversial bills to become emergency legislation. The “emergency” justifies their rush to approval without reading the Bills and without soliciting input from the public. As a result, Citizens must suffer from the wasted productivity, government abuse, and reduced standard of living that result from their disregard of us.

The original intent of the American Constitution was a system of “We”

“We” – Citizens who are allowed to create a life that reflects his or her individual needs. When Citizens collectively choose a government, the government should operate according to the collective needs of the group. The elected government should act in a manner that maximizes the ability of the free market to create the highest possible standard of living for society. And all government actions must conform to the US and State Constitutions.

“Input” – A basic element of Citizen feedback. If used properly, it would allow Citizens to correct the thinking process that results in legislation that does not reflect the needs and desires of Citizens.

During the rare times when it is possible to confront public officials with the question of why they are so un-responsive, their general excuse is that it is impossible to respond or react to the thousands or millions of Citizens that they are supposed to represent. Consequently, they expect “us” to accept their assumption that they know so much about every one of us, that they can eliminate Citizen feedback. They want Citizens to believe that they have enough expertise and research ability to find the perfect solution to every problem without “our” help.

“Responsiveness” – A basic element of Citizen feedback. When input is received from Citizens, there must be a positive change that responds to the needs of the Citizens.

The three best examples of political arrogance are from the US Congress over the past few months. They passed two separate “emergency” bailout bills without knowing the details of the legislation. They also passed the “emergency “cap and trade” legislation without knowing the details. As a result, they committed Americans to the deepest debt in the history of mankind without the consent of the American public who elected them.

History will show that none of these bills were emergencies and none of them will solve the problems that they were supposed to address. It is a sign of bad legislators when “they” commit Americans to several generations of harassment, loss of private property rights, and reduced living standards, especially with a total disregard of Citizen input.

There are Solutions – Just No Takers

If lawmakers were really all knowing, and they had actively worked with Citizens to address the lack of responsiveness issue, they would have learned that we are now in a new era of computer technology. They would have learned that there are an abundance of experts in web marketing, database technology, customer service technology, and sales psychology who are capable of putting together an inexpensive and useful system of citizen feedback that would allow Citizens to be properly represented.

The current parliamentary rules that control the flow of legislation would be modified to allow the type of Citizen Feedback that would be a required prerequisite for every legislative vote.

All proposed legislation would be publicly scheduled in a way that would solicit reasonable pubic input BEFORE the vote. Every legislator would be required to take an oath to vote “NO” on every bill that they did not read in detail and in it’s entirety. And they would be required read and write their own bills. They would also be required to defend all “Yes” votes in a public forum, such as town hall meetings. If the legislation is too complicated to for them to understand, they should vote “NO”. If they do not follow these actions that are in the best interests of Citizens, we not need these particular legislators.

Every elected official is already required to observe the US and NJ Constitutions. We need an official test to determine how well they are following this requirement in their choice of legislation. We should see regular impeachment hearings of those who refuse to do the job for which they were elected.

Your Only Effective Choice: Eliminate “THEM versus “US”.

There are many reliable and inexpensive methods that can be used to implement an effective Citizen Feedback System. Some of the elements that could make up a feedback system are town hall meetings, candidate talk shows, web blogs, email, snail mail, phone, board of advisors, and moving offices.

It would require pulling together an intelligent combination of the latest interactive technologies in video, audio, publishing, and photography. It would require elected officials and government workers who want to serve the best interests of the public. When this system is properly used, elected officials would be obligated to illustrate how this feedback is reflected in their actions. It can and will work if properly implemented.

I, Gene Baldassari, recognize the need for an effective Citizen Feedback System. As a legislator, I will begin to build this system in my own District upon election. And, for the rest of my elected term, I will scream the need for a responsive Citizen Feedback System through the halls of the NJ State House.

I have been involved with computers since the early 1970’s. I have been involved with various businesses since my pre-teen days in the 1960’s. I’ve worked at various levels of customer service since, the 1970’s. This is the type of experience that will allow me to guide the development of an inexpensive and responsive Citizen Feedback system that will be affordable to every legislator and other public official. In fact, we should not allow any legislator take additional money from Citizens to develop this sytem. They already have the resources that they need to build it.

Voters should never elect anyone who hides from the public.

NEVER!!!

Lack of turnover in elected offices has converted campaigns into “King of the Mountain” games that destroy the public’s chances of repairing broken governments.

“I, Gene L. Baldassari, declare and pledge to the Citizens of New Jersey: I will serve in the New Jersey State Assembly for a maximum of two terms”.

The nature of political office requires politicians to assist others. Of course, this can be beneficial to the public if the “favors” do not cheat those who should be properly represented.

Consequently, the longer a politician is allowed to remain in office, the more “friends” attach themselves to him or her. Sometimes, the recipients of these favors are voters, lobbyists, and other special interest groups that are not generally citizen oriented. Eventually, a system is developed that offers an unfair re-election advantage to the incumbent.

Unfortunately, officials get stale when they become comfortable in their positions. They continue to build their arsenal of friends and strengthen their good ‘ole boy networks. According to the US Term Limits Association, this causes them to develop a pattern of behavior that usually moves them away from representing the general public in favor of the power circle that they created.

That was the original reason for term limits on Presidents, Governors, and some Mayors. That is also the reason why we should require term limits on all State and Federal legislators.

The US Term Limits Association conducted a study a few years ago, which indicated that freshly elected public officials are less likely to waste money, more responsive to voters needs, and less likely to become corrupted.

No one owns an elected position. No one should be allowed to rely on his or her re-election. The government belongs to Citizens. A guaranteed constant turnover is the only way to inject fresh ideas and new energy in each position. This is a fundamental need that would help fix New Jersey and America.

I, Gene Baldassari, support legislation that would require mandatory term limits for all State elected officials in New Jersey. I also support a U.S. Constitutional amendment that would require term limits for all U.S. Congressmen and Senators.

Until a permanent term limit law is enacted, the only practical way to remove stale politicians is for voters to ask each candidate to take a term limit pledge. And voters should enforce it.

I have taken a term limit pledge. I will run for the Assembly for a maximum of two terms – a total four consecutive years in the Assembly. Can anyone else running in New Jersey’s 14th District claim this?

                                          – Gene
