There is Hope for New Jersey and America

With the highest property taxes in the nation, one of the highest per capita total tax burdens in the nation, an overpriced school system, an inability to balance government budgets, a massive loss of job opportunities, and a sliding loss of personal freedoms, this year’s legislative election will be extremely important to the future of NJ.

In many ways, it will be more important than the NJ Gubernatorial race because the most likely gubernatorial winners and their ties to the status quo will prevent them from salvaging New Jersey from an inevitable collapse. In another words, only a vocal and responsible legislature can reverse the awful trends that are killing New Jersey.

Like many fellow Citizens, I thought that the results of past legislative elections were so bad for NJ that we would automatically see viable challengers this year. As the NJ primary election began to unfold in late 2008, however, it began to appear like another “me too” event. It didn’t take long to realize that NJ was not going to have the type of legislative leadership that will be needed to reverse its slide to oblivion.

Although I was a volunteer in various elections since the 1960’s, I never had any intention or interest of being THE candidate. But when it became clear that voters would be denied the choices needed to effectively address the increasing problems that continue to destroy our standard of living and freedoms, I made a last minute decision to run for NJ Assembly.

When it comes to products or ideas, I can spend hours preaching selling points and bending the ears of anyone who will listen. But when I am the subject of the sale, I do not like to talk about my own merits. Consequently, I had never told anyone that I was the best in any endeavor. I did not even like to permit anyone to take my picture.

The Changes That I Had to Make

I can now proclaim, without a doubt, that I am the best candidate in the upcoming New Jersey 14th District election. No one else has the combination of life experience, leadership in citizen issues, willingness to expose the truth, investigative ability to get to the bottom of issues, and media communications understanding needed to get out the message. And, when it comes to properly representing the real needs of Citizens, there is no match in the other 14th District candidates.

And here is the greatest qualification of all. I will now allow my picture to be taken.

Every worker in the Modern Whig Party and every announced Modern Whig Candidate is a volunteer. None of us has time to throw away but we all love a Constitutional America. We are sacrificing our own time and money because of a strong belief that there is a dire need to establish a Party for the rest of us.

Whether you live in the 14th District or not, I encourage everyone to participate in this years historic Modern Whig election. A Modern Whig win in NJ-14 this year would reverberate throughout the nation as we prepare for next year’s Congressional elections.

Thank You,

Gene L. Baldassari
